Help Save the New Street Railway Gates

THIS NEEDS TO STAY FOR OUR CHILDREN & THEIR CHILDREN & SO ON...     CHILDREN IN THE FUTURE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THEIR PAST...

Anything that flys the Footscray Football Club alias Western Bulldogs Flag deserves to be protected at all costs.

compared to boom gates - how many fatal car crashes?- none; pedestrian fatalities ?-none; near misses for cyclist/pedestrians who duck under boom gates?-none ; car crashes as they bank across the tracks? - none; wheelchairs stuck in tracks?- none; cheery waves from the "gate -man" to brighten up your work day?-none;  I 'd say the New St gates win hands down!!

the gates are a God send, but one thing that people MUST be aware of and thats when the gates are shutting DO NOT try and be smart by trying to drive around on the wrong side of the road or yelling at the gate keeper "come on mate can we go through" when the gates are shut.

Because I can tell you this now the Gate Keepers keep an eye out for people like that and report cars that almost hit them.

The City of Bayside today was acting more unsafe then what the crossing is at the moment. How dumb can you be to sand on a train line and block trains, and I bet it's the same people that are bitching about New Street are bitching about Connex trains not running on time.
